Spring into Summer on the Island with the "Looney Toons" midnight cache grab and "Poker Run" along the South Shore area of Prince Edward Island.

The weekend will kickoff with a "Bonfire Bash" where Hot dogs will be provided and a BBQ grill will be available for anyone to use. Please bring your own beverages.

There is a $5 registration fee ($10 per family) to cover the expenses for this part of Event, running between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. There will be five (5) designated caches used in this Event to hold the poker cards in sealed envelopes. The envelopes must be returned to the BBQ on Saturday at the Box Car Pub & Grill in Emerald by 5:30 p.m., one card per cache, to be valid. The five (5) designated caches, comprising the "Talk Like an Islander" series, are all loggable finds. Prizes will be awarded for the following:

(1) Highest poker hand

(2) Lowest poker hand

 

We are asking Island cachers to release new caches for the weekend with the theme of their favorite cartoon characters. (Please contact El Nimrod at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for details if you want to release a cache for the Event). These new caches will be released Friday night at 10:00 p.m. so insomniac cacheholics will have something to do overnight, and while out doing the "Poker Run". However, they can be found anytime after release up to the BBQ to be considered for an Event prize. These are all loggable caches and will remain in play after the Event weekend. Prizes will be given at Saturday's BBQ for the following categories:

(1) Most Cartoon Cache finds

(2) Most Cartoon Cache FTFs

(3) The two (2) Cartoon Cache finds furthest from each other

(4) The "trailmaker62" award -- the largest collection of empty Tims/Robins cups from the Event weekend (play fair!)

(5) Cacher most resembling one of the Cartoon Cache characters in appearance or dress!

Saturday's complimentary BBQ will be held at the Box Car Pub & Grill in Emerald. Bring your "Loonies" and "Toonies" for the 50:50 draw and special raffle!
