Crowdsourcing ACGA's 5th Anniversary Geocoin

The ACGA completed its fifth year as a registered non-profit last year and to celebrate, we had an open design contest where our members submitted designs, then the members voted for the winning design.
Twelve designs were submitted and the membership voted. The basic requirements were:
- 4 coins, one for each province;
- any shape could be used, but when assembled, the 4 coins would form a larger piece;
- work with exec to incorporate the ACGA logo on the back side.
Once the winning design was selected, the Executive Committee worked with the designer and produced the back side of the coin and sent it off to the producer.
Geocoin sale was offered where anybody could buy a set, or individual coins in either two finishes. This first production run sold 243 geocoins.
A few months later a post from a geocacher from Fredericton asked if a second production run was in the cards. Usually we only do one production run. The reply was if there was demand, a 2nd production run could be possible,
204 additionals coins were ordered which made this a very successful geocoin project that started from members.
The ACGA has minted well over 3000 geocoins during our existence, from the 1st geocache in Canada, 1st ACGA provincial coins, various event coins and finally this 5th Anniversary coins set.
Contest Time!
We are giving away to four (4) lucky people one (1) Original ACGA and one (1) 5th Anniversary geocoin, both in copper finish. The original ACGA copper is an XLE (Extreme Limited Edition).
The Rules
The contest will run from April 8, 2012 to April 12, 2012. In order to be eligible to win you must submit the following:
- Enter a comment at the bottom of this article indicating the GC code of your favorite cache of 2012 so far. Login into the comment system either with your facebook, twitter, gmail or liveFyre account
The Draw
After 6pm on April 12, four (4) winners will be selected and will the coins will be awarded in the following order:
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland & Labrador
- New Brunswick
